The LIFTUP
Transfer System

The Liftup is an economical, make-it-yourself device which I developed to cope with an urgent problem associated with my multiple sclerosis quadriplegia. Now, more than a decade after first making the plans available in 1986, I have found the number of people helped by The Liftup to be extremely gratifying.

Substantial Cost Savings.

Simple to use, the Liftup is electrically operated, but is safe to use in moist or wet areas and will not fail during a power outage. It uses readily available parts, requires no special skills or tools to install, and can be expected to cost under $1000 ready-to-use. This is a considerable savings when compared with commercially-available independent transfer systems costing thousands of dollars.

Superior Upper-Body Sling Design.

The Liftup is unique in that it uses an upper-body sling to lift the user erect. All other known transfer devices utilize lower-body straps or seats, making it impossible to manage lower clothing. The Liftup's upper-body sling - while especially suited to bathroom transfers - has been used for other purposes as well.

The Liftup transfer system has proven usefulness and reliability. You can find out how to order a complete list of the half-dozen parts needed (with suggested local or mail-order sources for each) and easy-to-follow directions for installation and use by clicking on "How To Order."
